Niantic deploys new measure to those who cheat

With a announcement made earlier Niantic wanted to calm down all Pokemon GO players letting them know on new measures taken against cheaters:

“With the announcement of Raid Battles and the new battle features, we are staying true on our commitment to ensuring that Pokémon GO continues to be a fun and fair experience for all Trainers. Starting today, Pokémon caught using third-party services that circumvent normal gameplay will appear marked with a slash in the inventory and may not behave as expected. We are humbled by the excitement for all the new features we announced yesterday. This is one small part of our continued commitment to maintaining the integrity of our community and delivering an amazing Pokémon GO experience.”

George the Representative of Niantic made the announcement on Reddit. What Niantic has to gain?

  1. Pokemon marked will possibly not be able to be used or function properly.
  2. A merked Pokemon loses its value if trading ever gets introduced.
  3. Even if they will get assigned in Gyms, reports will rain on the owner.
  4. Niantic is not directly banning the cheater.

Niantic is banning the Pokemon but not the user!! We’ll have to wait and see its results…
